Two Soldiers Feared Dead in Ogun State Ambush

On Monday, two soldiers were reportedly killed in an ambush at Magbon along the Mow Ibafo axis in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. Unidentified assailants opened fire on the military personnel, leading to heightened tension in nearby settlements.

A viral video circulated on social media, showing the lifeless bodies of the soldiers being conveyed in a Hilux vehicle, accompanied by young men. Sources indicated that the incident is under investigation, with troops launching operations in the bush to track down the attackers and assess the security situation.

The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, is expected to provide further details. The 35 Artillery Brigade in Abeokuta, represented by Idereghi Samuel, did not respond to calls or messages regarding the incident.

Additionally, Jimoh Owolabi, chairman of the Ajumoni Progress Area CDC, dismissed claims of bandit invasions related to the attack, despite recent reports of alleged bandit activities in Ogun State.
