Fatal Stabbing Over Money Dispute Claims Two Lives in Ibadan

On Monday at approximately 12:45 p.m., two suspected area boys engaged in a fatal fight over the distribution of money in Ogunpa, Ibadan, Oyo State. The disagreement escalated into violence when both men allegedly seized knives from a trader’s shop.

One man stabbed his counterpart in the right wrist, while the other fatally stabbed him in the neck. The injured man was transported to Naomi Hospital in Oke Padre but succumbed to excessive blood loss before receiving adequate medical care.

Although the precise cause of the dispute remains unclear, local accounts suggest it arose from allegations that one individual had taken a larger share of the money. The Divisional Police Officer of the Iyaganku Division visited the scene and the hospital.

The Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased's bodies were deposited in a hospital mortuary.
