Ikonne Critiques Abaribe's 20-Year Senate Tenure

Paul Ikonne, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former executive secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), publicly criticized Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe for his nearly two-decade tenure in the Senate. Ikonne stated that Abaribe has failed to deliver meaningful development projects to the Abia South senatorial district, despite representing the area for 20 years.

He emphasized that there are no visible constituency projects attributed to Abaribe, justifying his stance against the senator's re-election in 2027. Ikonne also mentioned that residents of the district have already concluded plans to end Abaribe's tenure.

Furthermore, Ikonne declared his intention to contest for the Abia South senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections and expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, anticipating a full eight-year tenure that would benefit the South East region.
