Ikonne Urges Abaribe to Vacate Senate Seat by 2027

Princ Paul Ikonne, a chieftain of the Progressive Congress in Abia State, has publicly called on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe to prepare to leave the Senate ahead of the 2027 general elections. In an interview with journalists on Wednesday morning, Ikonne expressed his intention to run for the Senate seat representing Abia South, highlighting the urgent need for effective and quality representation in the district.

He criticized Abaribe's performance over the years, stating that the current representation has lost touch with the grassroots and the people of Abia South. Ikonne, who is a former executive secretary of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), emphasized that it is time for a change, indicating that Abaribe's tenure has not met the expectations of the constituents.

He aims to reconnect with the community and address their needs effectively.
