2,000 Rally for Ogbonna in Arochukwu, Ohafia Merger

Over 2,000 supporters from Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas in Abia State gathered at the Ohafia Town Hall to support Hon. Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

The rally also saw the merger of two political structures: the Concerned Progressives of Arochukwu and Ohafia (CPAO) and the NDC Youth Consultative Vanguard (NYCV), a former APC support group. The alliance aims to mobilize at least 10,000 votes for Ogbonna across all wards in both LGAs.

The groups expressed confidence in Ogbonna’s leadership and vision, emphasizing grassroots mobilization. They unveiled a 10-point agenda focused on civic engagement and socio-economic development, including voter sensitization, youth and women empowerment, healthcare initiatives, and academic competitions.

Ogbonna, who recently defected from the APC to the NDC, is regarded as a popular political figure in the region, with strong community ties.
