20,000 Applicants for 4,000 Teaching Jobs in Jigawa

In Jigawa State, a total of 19,966 applicants have sought placement for 4,000 temporary teaching positions as part of the J-Teach Batch C program. Prof.

Haruna Musa, the Executive Chairman of the Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), disclosed this information during an interview with Freedom Radio. The J-Teach initiative is a compulsory two-year teaching program designed to train successful candidates, with the potential for permanent employment thereafter.

The application breakdown reveals 7,450 single males, 5,433 married males, 2,503 single females, and a total of 15,285 candidates slated for recruitment examinations scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2026, across eight designated centers. Notably, 4,681 candidates will undergo direct screening without taking the exam, while 4,444 previously registered applicants will have their earlier results reconsidered.

Prof. Musa also warned applicants against submitting falsified credentials, emphasizing that legal consequences will follow for those caught.
