Health Experts Stress Innovative Collaboration Using GIS for Global Health Equity

Health experts gathered in Kano for the 2025 World GIS Day event, highlighting the significance of innovative collaboration through Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to advance global health equity. Abdulhamid Yahaya from eHealth Africa stressed the need for stronger collaboration to leverage GIS for health development.

Dr. Dalhatu Aliyu Sani of Kano Geographic Information System (KANGI) emphasized multi-sector collaboration and investments in GIS infrastructure.

Dr. Esther Shupel Ibrahim of NASRDA highlighted the value of GIS in disease eradication and healthcare delivery.

Ongoing challenges and advocacy for innovation to bridge gaps were also discussed.
