LGAN Proposes Partnership for 2026 All-Africa Challenge Trophy

The Ladi Golf Association Nigeria (LGAN), led by President Dr. Lami Onayi, proposed a partnership with the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Tourism to co-host the 2026 All-Africa Challenge Trophy in Abuja.

This proposal was made during a courtesy visit to Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa. The collaboration aims to create a cultural night program that will showcase Nigerian art, music, fashion, and cuisine, while also facilitating a sports business investment pavilion.

The event is expected to attract 30 African nations and international media, promoting Nigeria's creative economy and tourism. Minister Musawa expressed her commitment to reviewing the proposal and emphasized the importance of golf in building community resilience and promoting mental health.

The championship is scheduled for November 2-7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, marking a significant moment for women's golf in Nigeria and the creative economy.
