Nigeria U-18 Volleyball Team Defeats Egypt, Remains Unbeaten

On Friday, Nigeria’s U-18 boys volleyball team secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory against hosts Egypt during the 2026 CAVB African Nations U18 Volleyball Championship held in Alexandria. This win followed their previous 3-0 triumph over Morocco, extending Nigeria's unbeaten streak in the tournament.

The Nigerian team began strongly, winning the first two sets 25-20 and 25-16, putting pressure on the Egyptian side. However, Egypt rallied to win the third set 25-22, raising hopes of a comeback.

Nigeria regained control in the fourth set, winning 25-21 to conclude the match. This victory not only boosts Nigeria's confidence but also guarantees them a spot in the knockout stage with a game to spare.

With two wins from two matches, Nigeria is positioned as a strong contender for the championship title. The tournament features the continent's best young talents, competing for continental honors and qualification for global competitions.

Nigeria's next match is against Burundi.
