Nigeria U18 Boys' Volleyball Team Wins 2026 African Championship

The Nigeria U18 Boys' volleyball team achieved a historic victory at the 2026 African Nations U18 Boys Championship held in Alexandria, Egypt, defeating the host nation, Egypt, with a score of 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-14) on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. This triumph not only crowned Nigeria as African champions but also secured their qualification for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship, as the tournament served as the continental qualifying event.

Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), praised the team's success as a validation of the federation's commitment to grassroots volleyball development over the past nine years. He expressed confidence that the players' performances would attract interest from clubs in North Africa and beyond, creating professional opportunities for the young athletes.
