Nigerian Government Allocates N1.3 Billion for JAMB CBT Centers in 2026 Budget

The Nigerian government has earmarked over N1.3 billion in the 2026 budget for the construction, furnishing, renovation, and equipping of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide. This allocation covers various CBT and ICT infrastructure projects in multiple states, including Rivers, Lagos, Abia, Ondo, and Gombe.

The move aims to expand access to standardized examinations and improve the reliability of the examination and registration processes. The focus on upgrading JAMB's CBT system follows challenges faced during the 2025 UTME cycle, emphasizing the importance of embracing computer-based testing to enhance exam integrity.
