Bauchi State Approves N888.5m for Student Exam Fees

The Bauchi State government has approved a sum of N888,507,400 for the payment of external examination fees, including registration for the National Examination Council (NECO) and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Jalaludeen Usman.

The funding is part of Governor Bala Mohammed's efforts to support students and reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians. The intervention will cover the registration of students for several examinations, including NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS, and JAMB, as well as training for Computer-Based Testing (CBT).

A total of 24,917 students across the state will benefit from this initiative, with 22,646 registered for NECO, 2,064 for NABTEB, 207 for NBAIS, and 6,562 benefiting from JAMB registration and CBT training. Usman emphasized the government's commitment to improving educational outcomes and ensuring that no eligible student is denied access to examinations due to financial constraints.
