JAMB Targets N23.8 Billion IGR for 2026 Fiscal Year

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a target of N23.8 billion for its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the 2026 fiscal year, which is N4 billion more than the target set for 2025. Dr.

Muftau Bello, the Director of the Office of the Registrar, and Professor Ishaq Oloyed, representing JAMB, presented this target to the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund. JAMB plans to remit N6 billion to the federal government, contributing to a total budget profile of N30.6 billion for 2026.

In comparison, the 2025 budget performance indicated an IGR of N18.5 billion, with N4 billion remitted to the federal account. JAMB is also preparing to create 1,000 examination centers, significantly more than the 800 centers used in 2025.

Additionally, Senator Yohanna Amo from Adamawa North has tasked JAMB with reducing its examination fee from N5,000 to N3,500.
