NAHCON Begins Airlift of 474 Kogi Pilgrims for Hajj 2026

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has initiated the airlift of 474 pilgrims from Kogi State for the 2026 Hajj. During a ceremony in Abuja, NAHCON Chairman Abba Yusuf expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their steadfast support in ensuring a smooth Hajj exercise.

He urged pilgrims to strictly adhere to the guidelines set by NAHCON and emphasized the importance of the Nusuk card for movement during the pilgrimage. Yusuf warned against violations of Hajj regulations, noting that Saudi Arabia imposes strict sanctions.

He highlighted that the federal government will ensure necessary medical screenings for pilgrims before departure. Vice President Shettima encouraged pilgrims to act as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria in Saudi Arabia, stressing the need for discipline and patience.

Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo described the pilgrimage as a rare spiritual privilege and called on pilgrims to approach the journey with sincerity and humility.
