JAMB Disburses N1.57bn for 2026 UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has remitted a total of N1,570,671,200 to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration. This payment, disclosed in a bulletin signed by JAMB's public advisor Fabian Benjamin, represents the N700 registration fee collected on behalf of the CBT centers.

The funds are to be remitted weekly to the accredited CBT centers, which is part of JAMB's initiative to significantly reduce the exploitation of candidates through unauthorized charges and to promote a cashless registration process. Candidates are not required to make separate payments to the CBT centers for purchasing UTME e-pins.

JAMB has reinstated its "no view, no pay" policy, ensuring that payments made to CBT centers are verified against the candidates' valid registrations in the board's system. The registration for the 2026 UTME will close on February 28, with the examination scheduled to take place nationwide from April 16 to April 25, 2026.

Direct entry program registration will commence on March 2 and conclude on April 25, 2026.
