Osun Speaker Predicts Adeleke's Victory in August Poll

Wale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, expressed confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election prospects in the upcoming August 15 governorship poll. Egbedun highlighted Adeleke's achievements during his first term, asserting that voters will reward him.

In a statement released by Chief Press Secretary Tiamiyu Olamid, Egbedun spoke at a rally in Inisa, where he welcomed 500 defectors from the Progressive Congress, led by Aar Kazeem Abdulrashe, into the Accord Party. He urged the party to properly integrate the new members and emphasized the need for a credible electoral process, assuring that electoral manipulation would not be tolerated.

Egbedun also criticized the management of the APC, describing it as a "sole proprietorship" that has harmed the state. The election will see Adeleke contesting for re-election under the Accord Party, while Bola Oyebamiji and Najeem Salaam will run under the Progressive Congress and African Democratic Congress, respectively.
