Ekiti Government Denies PDP's N25m Manipulation Claim

The Ekiti State Government has officially debunked allegations made by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) that Governor Biodun Oyebanji spent N25 million to manipulate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) candidate list for the upcoming 2026 governorship elections. Wole Oluyed, the campaign organizer for the governor, stated that the claims made by Taiwo Olatunbosun were unfounded and lacked any substantive evidence.

The government emphasized its respect for citizens' democratic rights and questioned the rationale behind spending such a sum on propaganda when INEC provides authentic information freely. The statement highlighted the administration's focus on delivering results in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security, asserting that Ekiti State ranks highly in fiscal transparency.

The government urged political actors to engage in constructive discourse rather than making sensational claims that distract from real issues facing the state.
