JAMB Denies Fee Hike for 2026 UTME, Ensures Cost Stability for Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked reports suggesting a hike in registration fees for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry programs. JAMB clarified that fees will remain the same as in the past nine years, with no plans for an increase.

The board aims to ease financial concerns for parents and candidates, emphasizing the importance of early preparation for registration. Despite financial challenges, JAMB continues to operate efficiently, ensuring quality education standards in Nigeria.

The registration period for the 2026 UTME will start on January 31, 2026, and close on March 8, 2026.
