JAMB Dismisses Claims of University Students Being Barred from 2026 UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked reports suggesting that students already admitted to tertiary institutions are barred from registering for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) exams. JAMB's spokesperson, Benjamin, clarified that the claims were misleading and distorted.

He emphasized the need for candidates to declare their matriculation status during registration, as failure to disclose existing admissions could lead to penalties under Nigerian law. Benjamin highlighted that full disclosure is crucial to avoid complications, as securing a fresh admission while holding a previous one could render both invalid.

He warned candidates against misleading information and urged them to rely on official JAMB guidelines to safeguard their admission prospects.
