JAMB Confirms No Extension for 2026 UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided an update regarding the registration process for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). As of February 17, 2026, only 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered.

JAMB has stated that the registration will close at midnight on February 26, 2026, and there will be no extensions granted beyond this deadline. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, a public communications advisor for JAMB, emphasized that candidates should promptly obtain their electronic pins and complete their registration to avoid last-minute challenges.

Despite the capacity to register 100,000 candidates daily, the current registration centers are operating at only 30 percent capacity. JAMB has warned that extending the deadline is impossible as it would disrupt the national examination calendar.

Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration process without delay to ensure they do not miss the opportunity to sit for the examination.
