JAMB Adjusts 2026 UTME Schedule After Candidate Complaints

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a slight adjustment to the schedule for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in response to complaints regarding early morning arrival times. In a statement released on their official Twitter page, JAMB noted that the first session will now require candidates to arrive by 7:00 AM, with the examination starting at 8:30 AM and concluding at 10:30 AM.

This change is part of JAMB's efforts to improve coordination and ensure a smoother examination process. The board acknowledged that the previous early arrival time of 6:30 AM was a major concern for candidates and parents, especially during the recent UTME mock examination.

Additionally, JAMB reported that 11 states had candidates who failed to meet technical standards during the mock exercise, which is part of their efforts to enhance the conduct of the main examination.
