Two Ministers Resign to Pursue Governorship in Bauchi

On Monday, two prominent Nigerian ministers announced their resignations. Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has stepped down from his position to pursue a political ambition of running for governor of Bauchi State.

This decision was disclosed in a brief statement by the ministry's spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa. Additionally, Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, also resigned.

Tuggar, who hails from the Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, previously contested for the governorship in 2015. The resignations mark a significant shift in the political landscape as both ministers prepare to engage in the upcoming electoral process.
