Abia APC Denies Guber Ticket Claims Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted allegations that it awarded its governorship ticket to a non-party member. Uch Aguoru, addressing the press at the party's secretariat in Umuahia, stated that Eric Opah, a long-standing member, won the primary election with 125,977 votes, surpassing former Minister of State for Science and Technology, Henri Ikoh, who garnered 5,905 votes.

Aguoru dismissed claims of manipulation and emphasized that the party's internal processes were transparent. He also mentioned that some members had threatened to work against the party in the upcoming 2027 elections, potentially aiding opposition parties.

The APC in Abia State aims to counteract these threats and maintain its position in the political landscape, especially against the backdrop of Labour Party dominance in the region.
