APC Elders Warn Tinubu of 2027 Election Defeat Risks

Elders from the Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding the potential for electoral defeat in the 2027 presidential election. This warning stems from allegations of candidate imposition within the party, which they believe has not been adequately addressed.

Moham Jimeta, the spokesperson for the elders, expressed concerns during a press conference in Yola, stating that the APC could face similar setbacks as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) did in 2015 due to similar issues. The elders called for equitable and just candidate selection, particularly regarding the senatorial ticket for the Central Senatorial Zone, which they believe should be fairly distributed among local aspirants.

They urged the national security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to protect the votes in Adamawa State and warned that failure to address these issues could lead to significant losses for the APC in the upcoming elections.
