ADC's Nyong Rejects Claims of Supporting Tinubu in 2027

Dr. Effiong Nyong, the former governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Cross River State, has rejected allegations that the ADC is secretly working to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027. In an interview in Calabar, Nyong described such claims as mere political speculation aimed at undermining the party's growing influence ahead of the general elections.

He asserted that the ADC remains independent and is positioning itself as a viable alternative platform capable of participating fully in the 2027 polls. Nyong criticized the administration of Governor Bassey Otu, stating that it has led to a decline in key sectors such as education, tourism, and sports, which he believes reflects a retrogression in the state's development.

He lamented the erosion of achievements in education and the management of public resources, emphasizing the need for merit and discipline in governance.
