Ayuba Umar Withdraws from Nasarawa Governorship Race

Ayuba Umar, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), announced his withdrawal from the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship race via a Facebook post on Tuesday. He stated that his decision was made after extensive consultations and personal reflection.

Umar expressed that it was politically unfair and morally difficult to continue in the race, particularly in light of the leadership of incumbent Governor Abdullahi Sule. He emphasized the importance of balanced representation for the state and recalled a similar decision he made in 2018 to promote political stability.

Umar's withdrawal aims to protect democratic values and strengthen public trust in political leadership. He recently joined the ADC after resigning from the People's Redemption Party (PRP), where he was a prominent member.
