Alia Orders Resignation of Appointees Seeking Office

On a recent occasion, Governor Alia of Benue issued a directive for all appointees seeking elective positions to resign from their current roles. This decision aims to prevent distractions and sustain the pace of development across the state.

The announcement was made during an iftar event held at the new banquet hall of the government house in Makurdi, as signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula. Governor Alia stressed that resigning early would allow his administration to promptly fill vacant positions, ensuring the continuity of governance.

He reiterated his commitment to delivering on the development agenda and insisted that nothing should derail the mandate to improve the state. Alia called for citizen support in these efforts, highlighting ongoing road construction and improvements in civil service operations as part of the administration's focus on enhancing the welfare of the people of Benue.
