NNPP Members in Ogun State Defect to ADC Ahead of 2027

On April 2, 2026, Rasaq Shofowora, a member of the NNPP in Ogun State, announced the defection of all NNPP members in the state to the ADC during a meeting held at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta. The meeting, presided over by the NNPP Ogun State Chairman, Femi Aina, aimed to expand the party's influence and facilitate a smooth transition to the ADC.

Shofowora explained that the decision was made unanimously by the party's executive members across 20 local government areas in the state. The move is part of ongoing efforts to consolidate the coalition against the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Aina expressed enthusiasm for the development and instructed members to register with the ADC while awaiting further instructions. The transition is seen as a significant strategic maneuver to challenge the APC's dominance in the region.
