Tinubu Reveals 2027 APC Campaign Council, Key Figures Missing

On August 22, President Bola Tinubu announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, featuring 223 members, a significant reduction from the 422-member council for the 2023 elections. This restructuring has led to concerns regarding the absence of key figures such as former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, who previously served as the campaign Director-General in 2023.

Lalong's replacement is former Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, who will now coordinate Tinubu's re-election campaign. Other notable omissions include Festus Keyamo, the former Director of Public Affairs for the 2023 campaign and current Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who was the National Youth Coordinator during the last campaign.

The list is not final, as party sources indicate that adjustments are being made to address omissions and accommodate additional interests.
