Tinubu Withdraws APC Campaign Council List for 2027

President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal and reconstitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections. This decision follows controversy surrounding the initial roster released by the Presidency, which failed to adequately represent key stakeholders and the party's political structure.

Senior members of the APC expressed concerns about the limited input from experienced party members in the campaign council's composition. The initial list, headed by former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdul’aziz Yari as Director-General, notably excluded Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu and Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo.

The President is particularly focused on creating a campaign structure that integrates major stakeholders and political actors effectively. The new arrangement aims to address perceived imbalances and ensure proper integration of the National Assembly leadership into the campaign hierarchy.
