APC Defends Candidates' List Amid Allegations of Manipulation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) defended its candidates' list and called on members to unite in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. APC spokesman Felix Morka addressed allegations of electoral manipulation, stating that the party received 720 petitions from aggrieved aspirants concerning the primary elections.

Morka emphasized that the primary process is not solely a voting event but includes an appeal process that is integral to the electoral framework. He pushed back against claims that the APC violated electoral laws by replacing candidates, asserting that the party's actions were legitimate and aimed at ensuring fairness.

Morka acknowledged that not everyone was satisfied with the outcomes, which is a natural reaction when individuals do not win, but he assured that the party took time to thoroughly review the appeals. He stated that no arbitrary decisions were made in favor of any individual, reinforcing the integrity of the ticket allocation process.
