ADC Accuses APC of Plotting Leadership Hijack Ahead of 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is plotting to hijack its leadership by organizing a protest against David Mark, scheduled for April 2. The ADC characterized this move as a desperate attempt to undermine the party's growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ADC claimed that the APC is trying to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) into taking illegal actions against its leadership. The protest is reportedly sponsored by a notorious minister and aims to create artificial public pressure on the INEC chairman to recognize individuals who have resigned or been expelled from the party.

The ADC further asserted that this protest is part of a broader agenda to destabilize its leadership structure, especially following the recent defection of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. The ADC has vowed to resist these attempts and called for adherence to the rule of law, urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene to prevent actions that could undermine democratic institutions.
