Civil Society Alleges Presidency Plot Against ADC Leaders

The Nigeria Democrat Right Advocacy (NDRA), a civil society organization, has accused the presidency of orchestrating a plot to discredit the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its leaders in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. In a press statement signed by the Secretary General, Julius Aondowas, the group expressed concern over the rising profile of the ADC, particularly in northern Nigeria, which they claim has unsettled the presidency and prominent appointees of the APC administration.

The NDRA alleges that top northern politicians are involved in efforts to prevent the ADC from participating in the upcoming elections, including a meeting held in Abuja to explore judicial options to compromise the ADC's leadership structure. The statement specifically mentions ongoing litigation challenging the authenticity of David Mark's leadership of the ADC, suggesting that the APC is behind a conspiracy to disqualify the party.

The NDRA calls for attention from stakeholders and foreign governments regarding these alleged actions that threaten Nigeria's democracy.
