APC Defends Tinubu's Economic Policies Against Obi's Critique

The All Progressives Congress (APC) defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic policies in response to former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi's criticism during an interview on Channels Television. Obi described the Tinubu administration as one of “failure and renewed hopelessness,” advocating for a new leadership style to address Nigeria's economic challenges.

In a statement, APC’s National Vice Chairman (South-East), Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, emphasized the importance of continuity in economic policies, arguing that the Tinubu administration has laid a solid foundation for long-term recovery. He cited major reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy and exchange rate adjustments as necessary steps for economic repositioning.

Arodiogbu contended that while these reforms may be challenging, they are yielding positive results and should not be reversed. He criticized Obi for highlighting Nigeria's issues without offering viable alternatives and urged Nigerians to evaluate leaders based on their performance and commitment to policy consistency.

Arodiogbu expressed optimism about the ongoing reforms and their potential benefits for the Southeast and the nation.
