ADC's Kenneth Okonkwo Accuses APC of Undermining Opposition

Kenneth Okonkwo, a senior member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed alarm over the All Progressives Congress (APC) allegedly employing "charlatans" to destabilize opposition parties as the 2027 elections approach. During an appearance on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily, Okonkwo criticized the APC's tactics, claiming they aim to reduce competition.

He highlighted recent internal decisions within the ADC, including resignations and restructuring efforts, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the party. Okonkwo accused certain individuals of misrepresenting the situation and attempting to manipulate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by creating confusion regarding the party's leadership.

He emphasized that the current ADC leadership structure follows due process and has received recognition from INEC. Okonkwo dismissed claims made by faction leader Nafiu Gomb, who threatened legal action against INEC regarding leadership recognition, labeling them unfounded and an act of bad faith.
