APGA Will Not Field Presidential Candidate for 2027

During a media chat shortly after his inauguration for a second term, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo confirmed that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will not present a presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 elections. Soludo, a friend of President Bola Tinubu, expressed that he believes Tinubu deserves a second term.

He stated that the decision not to field a candidate is rooted in the party's historical context, referencing that APGA did not field a presidential candidate in 2011 and instead supported then-President Goodluck Jonathan. Soludo highlighted the necessity for the Southeast people to understand their self-interest and the importance of returning to political alliances, as taught by political figures like Nnamdi Azikiwe.

He asserted that President Tinubu would win without APGA's participation, emphasizing the need for political collaboration rather than protest.
