Sultan Urges Nigerians to Evaluate Campaign Promises

On Monday, the Sultan of Sokoto received the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Campaign Council, led by Senator Abdul-Aziz Yari Abubakar, at his palace in Sokoto. He urged Nigerians to carefully evaluate campaign promises before making electoral choices, emphasizing that politicians should focus on issues promoting peace, unity, and development rather than politicizing insecurity and other national challenges.

The Sultan acknowledged that while no government can completely eradicate insecurity and poverty, efforts should be made to mitigate their impacts. He wished the APC campaign council success and prayed for peace and good governance in Nigeria.

Senator Yari stated that the delegation sought the Sultan's guidance and prayers ahead of the elections, highlighting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to national development. Sokoto State Governor Dr Ahmed Aliyu noted that the electioneering process had begun in line with INEC's guidelines, emphasizing the importance of the Sultan's role as a spiritual leader in promoting peace and unity.
