APC Chairman Yilwatda Urges Politicians to Keep Promises

On Tuesday, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called on politicians in elective offices to demonstrate sincerity by fulfilling their campaign promises. His remarks were made shortly after he received the Blueprint Newspaper’s Person of the Year Award in Abuja.

Yilwatda stressed that democracy is meaningful only when the electorate feels the positive impact of governance, insisting that every lawful vote must be protected and counted. He highlighted that the true measure of democracy lies in the outcomes of governance, such as education, security, and employment.

Yilwatda also pointed out that security is crucial for a seamless political process, noting that insecurity undermines democracy by preventing citizens from voting. He emphasized that preparations for the 2027 general elections should begin immediately, focusing on intelligence gathering and conflict mapping to ensure electoral integrity.
