Atiku Abubakar Appoints Kenneth Okonkwo as Spokesperson

Atiku Abubakar has appointed Kenneth Okonkwo as his spokesperson in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and a former actor, announced his appointment via a statement on his official social media page on Thursday.

He expressed gratitude to Atiku for the confidence placed in him and acknowledged the support from his family, friends, and fans. Okonkwo emphasized the importance of dialogue within the ADC, particularly concerning the interests of the South East, amidst challenges posed by the Electoral Act of 2026.

He also thanked Dr. Kashim Imam, the former ADC national chairman, Ralph Nwosu, and Atiku's senior special assistant on special duties, Dr.

Eken Onwuka, for their contributions to strengthening the party for the upcoming elections. This appointment follows criticism regarding the ADC's choice of a vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, which has raised concerns about the marginalization of the South East in national politics.
