Atiku Abubakar to Win 19 Northern States in 2027 Election

Kenneth Okonkwo, the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar's presidential campaign, projected that Atiku will secure victories in all 19 northern states and three states in the Southwest during the 2027 presidential election. This assertion was made during an interview on AIT’s Democracy Today.

Okonkwo stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under which Atiku is expected to run, has garnered substantial support in the northern region, attributing this to public dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu's economic policies, including issues like the minimum wage and rising petrol prices. He emphasized that the current economic situation has made it difficult for workers to meet basic needs.

Additionally, Okonkwo expressed confidence in winning states in the South-South and identified Osun, Ondo, and Ogun as potential victories in the Southwest, citing internal crises within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as advantageous for the opposition. He also claimed that President Tinubu lacks popularity in Lagos, traditionally seen as his stronghold.
