Kano North Backs Barau Jibrin for 2027 Elections

A political support group has publicly declared its support for Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, asserting that Kano North cannot afford to lose his representation in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This declaration was made during a press conference on Tuesday, where the group emphasized Jibrin's significant contributions to the development of the region.

Habib Jibrin, addressing journalists, noted that Barau has delivered visible advancements in education, infrastructure, and human capital development, which have transformed the socio-economic landscape of the district since the return to democracy in 1999. The group specifically highlighted Barau's leadership in expanding educational opportunities, including the establishment of higher learning institutions across 13 local government areas, such as the opening of university study centers and the extension of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma.

Furthermore, they pointed out multiple projects executed in the Gwarzo local government area across various sectors, including healthcare, water supply, rural electrification, and community development.
