Barau Jibrin Urges Student Support for Tinubu's Re-election

On Friday in Abuja, Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, called on Nigerian students to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's bid for a second term. Speaking at the 45th anniversary of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Jibrin highlighted Tinubu's genuine commitment to addressing the challenges facing the country, particularly through various educational reforms.

He emphasized the importance of initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) aimed at expanding access to higher education and establishing new tertiary institutions. Jibrin noted that these reforms are crucial for equipping young people with the necessary skills and entrepreneurial capacities to thrive in a modern economy.

He urged students to appreciate the administration's efforts and to actively participate in building a stable and prosperous Nigeria. Jibrin, who also serves as the first Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, reiterated the need for continued collaboration between the government and students to achieve these goals.
