ADC Urges INEC for Real-Time Result Transmission in 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) welcomed the announcement of the February 20, 2027 presidential and national assembly elections and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide Nigerians with clear assurances regarding real-time electronic transmission of results. A statement issued by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi emphasized that credible polls depend not only on the election timetable but also on a transparent process.

The ADC called on INEC to outline concrete safeguards against manipulation and urged the National Assembly to pass binding legal frameworks to eliminate ambiguities surrounding real-time electronic transmission. The ADC reiterated that the credibility of the 2027 general elections will ultimately be judged not just by the timeline but by INEC's commitment to transparency and adherence to due process throughout the electoral cycle.

The party also reminded INEC of its recent media engagement, where the INEC chairman acknowledged the commission's technological capacity for electronic transmission.
