Borno Deputy Speaker Backs Ndume, Withdraws from Senate Race

The Deputy Speaker of Borno State, a long-time member of the Borno Assembly representing Askira, announced his withdrawal from the Senate race during a press conference at the NUJ Press Centre in Maiduguri on Thursday. This decision was reached after extensive consultations and deep reflection, particularly meetings with Governor Babagana Zulum.

The Deputy Speaker stated that his withdrawal was in the best interest of the party and the Southern Borno zone. He expressed his wholehearted endorsement and total support for Senator Muhammadu Ali Ndume, urging party loyalists to rally behind Ndume to ensure victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

He called for unity across the nine local government areas in the zone, emphasizing the importance of working together for the party's success.
