Borno Stakeholders Endorse Askira for Senate 2027

Stakeholders within the Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have officially endorsed Abdullahi Musa Askira, the Deputy Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, for the Senate seat representing Borno South in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This endorsement follows extensive consultations across the nine local government areas of the district, reflecting a growing demand for power rotation and inclusive representation.

The decision comes as a response to historical precedents regarding the rotation of the senatorial seat, which has been a contentious issue, particularly concerning the interests of Gwoza. While the stakeholders urge the party to support Askira, they acknowledge the formidable presence of Moham Ali Ndume, a veteran lawmaker with extensive legislative experience.

Tafu Malla, a prominent woman politician, praised Askira's grassroots initiatives and his commitment to job creation and youth empowerment. The endorsement is seen as a strategic move to restore political equity in Borno South as the race towards the 2027 elections gains momentum.
