Ndume Becomes APC Consensus Candidate for Borno South Senate

Ali Ndume has been confirmed as the consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Borno South Senate seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This confirmation was announced on a Monday after a process held at the APC primary venue in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Ndume's emergence followed the voluntary withdrawal of his main challenger, Abdullahi Askira, who stepped down last month after consulting with party stakeholders within the senatorial district. Ndume expressed gratitude to the APC stakeholders and the Borno South delegation for their support and confidence in him.

He commended Askira for his loyalty to the party and for heeding the advice of party elders to withdraw from the race. If Ndume wins the 2027 elections, he will return to the National Assembly for a fifth term.

He urged party stakeholders to remain united and continue working on political strategies in preparation for the general elections.
