Yusuf Buhari Announces Bid for House of Representatives Seat

Yusuf Buhari, the son of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has officially expressed his interest in contesting for a House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made public through a letter dated April 3, 2026, titled "Express Interest to Contest Seat House of Representatives, Sandamu, Daura, Mai Adua Federal Constituency." In the letter, he conveyed his delight in informing the public of his intent to run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yusuf Buhari emphasized his commitment to ensuring quality leadership and supporting infrastructural development and human resource growth in his constituency. He also indicated that he had consulted widely and expected full support from stakeholders in the APC, particularly in the Sandamu local government area of Katsina State, which has already declared its support for him.

This move marks Yusuf's entry into politics, following in his father's footsteps, as Muhammadu Buhari served as Nigeria's president from 2015 until 2023.
