APC Leaders Issue Violent Threats Against Opposition Supporters

As the 2027 presidential election approaches, there are increasing concerns regarding threats made by leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against those opposing President Bola Tinubu. These threats have been reported across various regions, including Borno, Kuje in the Federal Capital Territory, Osun State, and Ebonyi.

APC officials, including governors and commissioners, have issued warnings that range from violence to political punishment for non-supporters. Notably, Sainna Buba, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Borno, threatened that residents who do not support Tinubu would have their fingers cut off, equating political allegiance with access to government benefits.

This statement was made during a campaign event for the City Boy Movement, a political support group for Tinubu. Following backlash and a viral video, Amnesty International condemned Buba's remarks as reckless and unlawful.

Additionally, Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, the Kuje Area Council chairman, warned residents to either support the APC or leave the area.
