ADC in Edo State Installs New Executive Amid Crises

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State has announced the installation of a new state executive committee, with Toni Alik emerging as the chairman. This development was confirmed by Sem Andrew Uchendu, who represented the national secretariat during the exercise.

The announcement follows ongoing internal crises within the party, highlighted by Rowland Owi's declaration of Dr. Nosa Ehima as the elected state chairman, which has deepened divisions within the Edo chapter.

The incumbent state chairman, Kennedi Odion, is expected to conclude his tenure on May 19, prior to the congress. Uchendu disclosed that the congress was conducted over three days, following a consensus arrangement agreed upon by state party leaders, including John Odigi Oyegun, who provided structural leadership guidance.

Alik, alongside 23 newly constituted members of the state executive, has prioritized reconciling aggrieved stakeholders and fostering unity within the party. He has begun consultations with Oyegun and intends to engage party leaders continuously, aiming to mobilize citizens around a shared vision for Nigeria's future.
