Crisis in Edo ADC as New Executives Emerge Amid Confusion

The Edo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is experiencing a crisis after the emergence of new state executives led by Alik as chairman, alongside 23 other executive members. This development occurred despite claims of conflict regarding the party's leadership structure. The announcement was made by the national chairman of the party's secretariat, Andrew Uchendu, just 24 hours after Rowland Owi announced Nosa Ehima as the elected state chairman, creating confusion with the incumbent chairman, Kennedi Odion, whose tenure is expected to expire on May 19. Uchendu supervised the congress over three days at various levels, including unit, ward, and local government. He explained that the party's leadership, led by former national chairman John Odigi Oyegun, agreed on a consensus arrangement for the new leadership to address structural issues. Uchendu also noted that consultations with party leaders have already begun.
